The body is a house for our selves, for our souls. The things we feed our bodies and the way in which we nourish our souls are directly related to the type of house we live in, our level of motivation , and ability to accomplish goals.
We often treat our houses even our cars better than we treat our bodies, begin to think of your absolute dream house , your most important investment , then visualise the way you treat it . Do you treat your body that way ?
Think of what goes into buying a house , all that hard work and sacrifice to save enough for a deposit then once you buy your house you continue to work hard to make the repayments. Some of you will renovate and add value to your house , your careful and particular where you put things , what to buy , your space , functionality and in the process you turn it into a home. You continue too work hard with ongoing maintenance, cleaning , mowing the lawn and replacing or fixing things that need to be changed. Stop doing some or all of these things and your house or home soon starts to look tired, stressed and starts to break down. Our bodies work in a similar way and when you stop doing the work that is needed to nourish, exercise and look after your body it will start to deteriorate the same way. It needs ongoing work and I often hear people make fun of those who treat their body like a temple but as I get older I become more and more appreciative of what my body can do for me and because of this I am reminded of why proper maintenance, regular attention and discipline are so important.
Just like your home when you look after it, it will repay you in so many ways and give you so many fond memories , there will be parties, celebrations , dinners, entertainment , play dates , laughter , tears and so much more but once they’re over the cleaning, the chores the maintenance, the repairs still need to be done – it’s an ongoing cycle. The body also loves down time, sleep , relaxation, meditation, holidays, all types of foods, drink and good old fashion fun but the majority of the time you need to be mindful of how you treat your body and what you put into your body.
Our bodies are even glorified as temples in the bible
1 Corinthians 6:19-20English Standard Version (ESV)
19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
When you are living in your dream house you would be more selective of who you invite to your home as the wrong visitor could completely ruin your day adding a lot of negative energy to your space.
The body and mind works the same way be aware of how you feel when you eat or drink certain foods and always try and nourish your body with whole foods not processed foods or alcohol. Be mindful of the thoughts that you give attention to and remember thoughts become things so choose your thoughts carefully. Often our bodies are a lot more clever than you think and what we may interpret as sugar cravings the body may indeed be telling us when they need a dose of healthy nutrients , using cravings as their under cover messenger

Below I have included some images of a run down old house and an old house that has been well looked after so you can compare , I have also included images of a fit 67 year old man and a fit 76 year old woman in comparison to a couple of unhealthy bodies in their 20’s for your reference.
Society seems to have it all wrong and I’ve seen parents feed their kids so much crap yet discipline them and get angry with them if they break a plate. I’ve seen people sabotage other peoples progress because of their own insecurities and it seems to be more acceptable to be unhealthy in society than being healthy. Having said that I struggled to find pictures of un healthy people on the web yet it’s full of these great athletic physiques. It’s so ironic , maybe it’s because it’s not the norm or maybe it’s because the truth hurts and people would prefer to ignore the truth rather than face it or be faced with it. Whatever it is it’s time for fit and healthy to get the recognition it deserves and become a lot more acceptable. If exercise was a pharmaceutical drug it would be known as a super drug
